Affiliate Progress: Jan 1 – Jan 15, 2010

This is the first update for this year. I’m really going to try to keep these updates coming on a regular basis – perhaps every 15 days, since that’s the way the Clickbank dashboard is set up.
January 1 was a great day, with $140.35. My first hundred dollar day. However, one of the products purchased on that day was refunded. My only refund in the past 15 days.
With the refund accounted for, I’ve made $371.67 in the past 15 days. That comes out to around $25 average per day.
Not bad, not ideal either. My total traffic was 6,921 hits and number of sales were 12, which means my conversion rate is .0017.
I have a feeling that conversion rate won’t get much better. Based on these stats, I’d have to get 2-3000 hits per day in order make the sales steady.
I’ve been chasing the 2000 hits per day goal for many months now. And right now I’m getting an average of 4-500 hits.
I still have a lot of work to do I guess. I’m doing %100 SEO work right now. Because that’s what I’m good at, and that’s the kind of traffic I know converts well.
Social media does not convert, as I was telling my cousin last night. I’ve gotten lots of hits from Facebook and Stumbleupon, but 0 sales from those sits.
Whereas ezine articles, google search, and yahoo search are bringing me steady sales. I will also stop messing around with Adwords.
I obviously suck at them, and I spent way too much money last month. So, here’s my action steps for the next 15 days:
- Keep working on SEO
- Discover new keywords, and write high-quality articles daily
- Keep submitting high quality articles to Ezine
Not really changing anything I’m already doing. If anything the goal will be trying to produce at a higher volume and to find ways to scale my work.
