For many people, getting upto 27,000 hits per month is like a mountain. I felt the same way when I could barely get 70 hits per day. But you know what, when I made the decision to focus only on Content Development and SEO, things changed for me.

The results came faster, and the money started pouring in. The lesson to learn here is that there are dozens of ways to make money online and to generate traffic. But only one will work for you. If you’re not a great writer, then obviously writing will not work for you.

I suck as social media and PPC. People have become millionaires with PPC. Other people have been able to generate 27,000 hits PER DAY with just social media marketing. That’s great for them.

I’ve just found something I’m really good at and I’m going to stick to it. But in the beginning I tried everything. I tried facebook marketing, facebook ads, pay per click, ezine articles, twitter, stumbleupon, and Digg.

But somewhere along the line, I realized that I was a really great writer, and that Google was being very friendly to me. My articles began to rank higher, and I kept going. I started doing more keyword research, and one year later, I have a blog that gets 27,000 hits per month!

I’m going to keep going. Keep learning. But now I have a steady path. Find your steady path and start making lots of dough!

As you know, I’m heavy on writing content. Write really good content over and over, day in and day out, and you will eventually build up your blog into an authority blog – one that gets up to 20,000 hits per month (mine currently is getting 22,929).

I’ve already gone over all you need to know about SEO in my free eBook. Once you’ve gotten good at keyword research and choosing topics, you need to work hard in creating content around those topics.

This involves lots of research.

But one of things that bloggers do is they write a single post on a single topic and try and get that post to the front page of Google. Unless your blog already has some good Google juice, the chances that one single post will get on the front pages of Google is very slim.

So what do you do?

You write a SERIES of posts around that one topic. This allows you to:

1) Write More Content Around a Single Keyword – This increases the chances that at least one of those posts will be ranked high on Google.

2) Get Readers to Stay Longer on your Site – By connecting all the posts together, readers will have a reason to stay on your site. At the end of each post, you can write: “Click here for Part two, where I teach you…..)

3) Build Credibility – Anyone can regurgitate what is already out there on your topic. But writing a series of articles around a single post shows individuals that you’ve done your research and are an expert.

How do You Write a Series of Articles?

It might seem like a daunting task, but it isn’t. I’ll give you a quick example, two actually. I’m currently working on two series posts. The first one is much longer, 5 articles in the series (haven’t decided yet, exactly)

The second only has two articles.

After surveying my list, I realized that there were a lot of individuals who were over the age of 55. So I decided to write a series of articles targeting this group.

Here is how I broke down the articles:

Losing Fat and Building Muscle at Age 55 and over,

Part 1: Weight Lifting Routines for General Strength
Part 2: Workout Routine for Building Lean Muscle
Part 3: Push up, Pull up, and Squat Workouts for Fat Loss
Part 4: How to Burn 3500 Calories a Day
Part 5: Weight Lifting Routine to Burn Stubborn Fat

I’ve already written the first three posts in the series. Each title starts off with “Losing Fat and Building Muscle at Age 55 and over, Part…”

The second series is only two articles and is devoted to individuals trying to gain muscle while minimizing fat gain during the summer. The first part is devoted to training, and the second part is devoted to nutrition.

Setting up your own series of articles is fairly easy. Once you’ve figured out the keyword you want to target, just try and come up with as many angles you can approach this keyword.

For example, lets say your topic was “bodyweight workouts”

You can split that series into:

Bodyweight Workouts for Fat Loss

Bodyweight Workouts for Mass Gain

Bodyweight Workouts for General Fitness

Bodyweight Workouts for Athletic Fitness

That’s just one example. You will need to use some creativity and perform some additional research to see if there is any demand for your subtopics.

Last Minute Tips to Maximize this Strategy:

Make sure that you interlink all your posts.

You can put all your posts together to create a free report that you either just give away, or give away after collecting emails.

Don’t worry TOO much about how many searches your subtopics receive. Just make sure your primary topic adheres to my SEO guidelines from my free ebook.

If your first series post does not yield the results you desire, try again.

According to the survey I sent out to my list, everyone has been affiliate marketing for at least 6 months. So, I’m not going to waste my time with beginner concepts.

In the past month, my website traffic has increased by 13.78%. My revenue has increased by 71%. So, traffic DOES equal more money, but only if you have good converting products.

So what have I been doing in the past month that has seen such a grave increase in my traffic? Well, I did one main thing:

I Spent More Time Writing…

…on my blog.

In the month of March, I wrote 78 posts on my blog. In April, I wrote 96 posts on my blog. So I worked only 23% harder in the month of April than in March, which helped me get 13.78% more people to my blog and made me $612.77 more money than last month.

So, if I want to make more money this month, I need to work just a little bit harder, to yield greater results.

Now, just as I surveyed you guys, I survey the list on my blog. And I was able to gather some incredible data that will help me write more targeted articles.

These articles will…

Increase my SEO traffic

Convert current readers into buyers by giving them the information they want, and in turn promoting the kind of products that match that information (for example, I found that I have a good number of individuals who want to learn how to get and stay in shape at the age of 60. So I’m coming out with a series of articles for individuals over the age of 55, and recommending workout programs specific to their goals. It’s already working!)

Attract new readers who are similar to your current readers.

Try it and see if it works for you. I will keep you posted on how this new strategy is working for me.

Is it saving me more time?

Is it making me more money?

Is it generating more traffic?

Is it increasing my SEO?

All your answers will be answered after this month, when I start analyzing my results. Until then, use this strategy, and the ones from my free eBook, and start making some money!

There are three primary aspects to success with any online business: 1) Traffic, 2) Conversions, and 3) Repeat Business. Unfortunately, most affiliate marketers focus too much on conversions. Yes, it’s true that you must absolutely find a product which converts.

However, once you find a product that converts you need to figure out how you’re going to get repeat business from that person, and then find similar individuals to come to your website. Hence, your marketing plan should be structure in the following order: 1) Conversions, 2) Repeat Business, and 3) Traffic.

The second mistake most affiliate marketers make is completely ignoring the concept of repeat business. Repeat business is very vital, and is truly the only way you’ll be able to automate your business and earn passive income.

Most individuals do not realize was true passive income is. I drew a little chart to help you out:

This chart, of course is just hypothetical. But I want you to get the main idea here: As your business grows, you spend less time on it and your revenue gradually grows. So, when you started out at working 40 hours per week, you made around $40 per week, or $1 per hour.

If you set the proper steps in place, then over time you will be able to spend even less on your business, as little as 5 hours, and earn around $240 or $48 per hour. Once again, I just created this chart on the hypothesis that each week you’ll raise your revenue by 50%.

Of course, things don’t work that way.

Passive Income = Passive Traffic + High Conversions + Repeat Business

The first step to passive income is following the right product. This will probably be the most difficult aspect of your business. I was lucky to be able to find a handful of products from beginning that already converted for my site.

In the beginning, don’t worry about how much traffic it takes to convert a product. Just find something that converts, whether it gives you $50 per sale or $5. The best way to go about this is to find multiple products, around 3-5, and promote all of them at the same time.

If you’re using a blog format, as I did, you can simply write 10 articles for each product, post them on your blog, and see what happens. Underneath each post, link out to the product, and place a tracking code so you know which article converted the sale for you.

You’ll generate traffic through SEO primarily. But you can also send social media, ppc, forum, and referral traffic to your website.

Once you get a single sale, stick to that product. Look at your clickbank stats and see how many hops it took you to convert that product. For example, lets assume that it took 200 hops for you to convert a particular product.

This means that 200 people saw the product’s sales page, but only 1 person decided to buy. This means that the conversion rate is .5%. Your goal now is to get that conversion rate up to 1%. The first step is to create a landing page.

Go back and locate the initial article that converted the sale. Convert this into a landing page. Here’s an example of an article I used to convert sales that I transformed into a landing page: http://shahtraining.com/hundred-bodyweight-exercises/

As you can see, this landing page doesn’t follow the traditional approach of a landing page. But it works, and that’s all that matters. But to convert into a landing page, you’re going to actually have to elaborate on the product just slightly.

Especially if the vendor has some sort of up sell, simply talk about it. Include product features and benefits, but write it such a matter that it becomes a part of the article itself. Hence, it’s not just a random sales pitch.

There’s relevancy there.

Once you’ve done this, go back and change back all the links of all the articles that you published earlier and point them back to your new landing page. Now you suddenly have 25-50 articles pointing back to your landing page.

This will help improve the SEO of that particular page, hence generating even more valuable content to your landing page. Over the next few weeks see how many sales you make from page. Each week, measure your conversion rate.

If after a week, if you’re not at 1% conversions, then make little tweaks in the page to improve conversion. Here are some ideas:

Adding video

Adding testimonials

Elaborating on one aspect of the product

If it’s an eBook, copy and paste the table and contents

Elaborate on one specific benefit

Remember, your landing page should try to get the prospect excited about the product. Hence, they’re already in “buy mode” when they get to the vendors page.

There you go. I’ve just provided you with a blueprint of how to get you first few clickbank sales. Now go do it!

Next time, we’ll go deeper into the idea of getting the income more passive.

“Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” – Mark Twain

I don’t think I’ve ever found my self on the side of the majority. I’ve always been a non-conformist. But I don’t do things differently just because I don’t wish to fit in. But in fact I do things differently just because I want to.

That’s how it should be. Why should anyone tell me what to do? It’s my life, and it’s my decision to do as I wish to do. One of the biggest reasons why I’ve chosen to focus so much time and energy on Shah Training and Affiliate Marketing is because of my pursuit of freedom.

Freedom is the ability to determine action without restraint. I want absolute freedom. Freedom from parents. Freedom from a boss. Freedom from government. Look, I understand that we all need laws and government for protection.

But I don’t like the idea of someone controlling every little aspect of my life. And unfortunately, that is the direction this country is heading. But even then, the real reason why I want to leave this country is two-fold:

1 – I don’t want to give away 30% of my earnings to the government, and

2 – 1 U.S. Dollar = 50 Rupees.

At the end of the day, that means more money in my pocket, and more freedom from my struggles.

So, with that said, lets take a look at my progress for the past few weeks:

As you can see, my weeks start on Wednesdays. I was almost able to break $100 last week. For about 10 days, I went without a single sale. During those 10 days I was following the advice of Mr. Ewen Chia.

Yeah, I did buy his latest product. There were some great ideas in there that I just needed to try. Too bad they didn’t work. Thats why I’ve decided from now on I’m only going to listen to my own head.

Think about it, the week I followed Mr. Chia’s advice I only made $23. Once I stopped following his advice, my sales went up. This isn’t the first time this has happened. I’m just going to stop listening to all these so called “Guru’s”

Ok, so what I realized was that with one of my products, Gladiator Body Workout. The conversion rate is 1/135. Not bad. The average commission for each sale is $22.60. So, if I want to break $100, I need to send at least 600 people to the Gladiator Body Workout sales page.

So, that’s exactly what I’ll be working on this week. This is going to be difficult, because my site only gets around 300-400 hits per day. I’ll spend today trying to figure out how to generate the traffic.
